The house price balance in the United Kingdom came in at 49 percent in November, the latest survey from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors showed on Thursday.

That beats forecasts for a reading of 48 percent but was down from the upwardly revised 50 percent in October.

Among the individual regions, house prices in Scotland surged, while prices in the London area advanced more slowly.
