Slide in oil prices ensured major US equity indices fell in early trading with energy stocks leading the way.
At the time of writing, Dow Jones industrial Average (DJIA) was down 0.55% or 98 points. S&P 500 index was down 0.40% or 8 points. Nasdaq also traded 0.23% or 12 points.
DJIA oil and gas index was down 1.66%. Shares in Chevron and DuPont were down 1.3% and 1.0% respectively. Chesapeake Energy, Freeport-McMoran were trading weak as well.
Meanwhile, winning side included names like McDonald’s, Home Depot, Nike, Coca-Cola.
