Trading in the U.S. index futures suggests that Wall Street stocks may open Wednesday’s session higher. Inhibitions triggered by the earnings season that has been lukewarm thus far could give way to some optimism, as the markets get to receive earnings news from companies such as Boeing (BA), Coca-Cola (KO) and General Motors (GM). With Lam Research announcing a deal to take over KLA-Tencor and Fiat’s Ferrari to list itself in the NYSE, some buoyancy could not be ruled out. That said, the absence of any major economic catalysts could introduce caution.
