The dollar firmed up from softer opening levels, bringing EUR-USD down from pre-open highs of 1.1216 to an afternoon low of 1.1120. There was no progress reported on the Greece crisis at the N.Y. close, and we suspect more drama will be seen in the coming days. We still need to hear from the Greek parliament, while on Sunday, the EU emergency summit could be the determining factor for either Grexit or bailout. Elsewhere, USD-JPY rallied steadily from near 122.25 to a high of 122.87, as U.S. yields marched higher, and as rusk appetite improved markedly.
