Austria’s production index dropped in June from from a year ago, though marginally, figures from Statistics Austria showed Tuesday.
The production index, which combines industrial production and construction, edged down a working-day-adjusted 0.1 percent year-over-year in June.
Production in the construction sector fell 3.2 percent annually in June, while industrial production grew by 0.7 percent.
Among sub-sectors, energy production plunged 5.2 percent and that for intermediate goods went down by 0.7 percent. At the same time, capital goods and consumer durables output climbed 3.6 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.
On a monthly basis, production index rose a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent in June. Industrial production gained 0.5 percent and construction output inched up 0.1 percent.
