Home prices in majority of the Chinese cities continued to decline in April, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
Compared to the previous month, prices of new houses fell in 48 out of the 70 cities in April. Prices rose in 18 cities and remained unchanged in four cities.
The steepest decline in house prices was observed in Huizhou, by 0.7 percent and the biggest rise was seen in Shenzhen, by 1.8 percent. Prices went up 0.7 percent in the capital region Beijing,
On an annual basis, house prices dropped in 69 out of the 70 cities at the start of the second quarter.
