Clooney to Replace Trump?
British human rights lawyer Amal Clooney who married actor George Clooney in Venice last year might replace American real estate magnate Donald Trump as the host of reality TV show ‘The Apprentice’.
NBC turned Trump’s ‘You’re fired!’ catchphrase on him after he made remarks about illegal Mexican immigrants being rapists and murderers during a political campaign last month. Looking for a high-profile woman who can command as much attention in the boardroom as on the red carpet the executives believe that Amal fits the bill perfectly reports dailystar.co.uk.
‘We want Amal although there are a couple of other prominent women in contention we think she could be a perfect fit if her schedule can be made to dovetail with shooting requirements’ said a source. The idea of filming the show mainly in New York where she is a regular lecturer as a visiting professor at Columbia Law School appeals to Amal according to friends of the couple.
Amal 37 who married Clooney in Venice last September tops a shortlist of ‘powerhouse’ female candidates that includes Facebook boss Sheryl Sandberg and Fantastic Four actress Jessica Alba who also runs a household products empire.
One executive said: ‘As well as the cachet of being married to George she is also a highly respected figure in her field and since she rarely says anything in public there is still something of an air of mystery to her.’
Several early male candidates including former basketball legend and philanthropist Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson 55 and comedian and talk show host George Lopez 54 have been dropped.
