Czech producer prices declined at a faster-than-expected pace in November, figures from the Czech Statistical Office showed Wednesday.

The producer price index dipped 3.7 percent year-over-year in November, slower than the 3.9 percent decrease in the prior month.

Economists had expected a 3.5 percent drop for the month. In September, prices had fallen 4.2 percent.

The annual decline in November was largely caused by a 12.3 percent slump in prices of chemicals and chemical products.

Among the main industrial groupings, prices of energy prices fell the most by 7.9 percent annually in November.

Month-on-month, producer prices dropped 0.4 percent in November.

In an another report, the statistical office announced that import prices slipped 3.7 percent yearly in October, which was worse than the 3.5 percent decline in September.

On a monthly basis, import prices slid 0.3 percent in October, following a 0.7 percent fall in the preceding month.

Exports prices decreased 3.0 percent in October from a year ago and edged down 0.1 percent from the prior month.
