Denmark’s consumer confidence strengthened for the second straight month in December, survey figures from Statistics Denmark showed Monday.

The consumer confidence index, which indicates people’s views on the current and future economic situation, rose to 6.1 in December from 5.6 in November.

The latest reading was the highest since August this year, when the reading was 9.2.

Households’ assessment of current economic situation compared to a year ago improved to 6.1 in December from 5.6 in the previous month.

Similarly, households’ view on the country’s general economic situation for the next twelve months increased in December after weakening a month earlier. The respective index rose to 6.5 from 4.6.

At the same time, assessment of their own financial situation over coming year dropped to 11.5 in December from 14.0 in the prior month.
