FXStreet (Córdoba) – German Die Zeit is reporting the EU and the European Central Bank will extend aid to Greece until the end of the year, without the International Monetary Fund.
According to the German paper, creditors will extend assistance until the end of the current program, but the IMF would no longer take part in the financing given its concerns about Greek debt sustainability.
Greece will get around €10 billion from the ECB’s bank recapitalization fund. The ECB would also raise the cap on Greek banks, allowing them to buy another €2 billion of government debt.
