FXStreet (Córdoba) – Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis will ask Eurogroup for bailout extension of few weeks to accommodate referendum, Reuters reports.

Varoufakis says the government is committed to implementing outcome of referendum and reaching quick deal with creditors in the spirit of vote result.

Greek finance minister said IMF payment on June 30 will depend on flexibility of creditors. He wants EU to return €1.9 billion of profits on ECB holdings of Greek bonds to pay the IMF.

Varoufakis added banks must stay open during bailout transition period, and central bank role is to ensure this.
