India’s industrial production growth slowed more than expected in September, figures from the Central Statistics Office revealed Thursday.

Industrial output grew 3.6 percent year-on-year, much slower than the 6.3 percent expansion seen in August and 4.9 percent rise forecast by economists.

Within total production, electricity output surged 11.4 percent, while manufacturing and mining grew only 2.6 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

During April to September, industrial output advanced 4 percent from the same period of last year.
