The Indian rupee weakened against the U.S. dollar in the morning deals on Friday, as regional stocks fell.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex fell 26.01 points or 0.30 percent at 8,509. The broader CNX Nifty index dropped 36.6 points or 0.44 percent at 8,361.

Against the greenback, the rupee fell to nearly a 4-month low of 63.4400 from an early high of 62.4720. At yesterday’s close, the rupee was trading at 62.5505 against the greenback.

If the rupee extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around the 64.10 area.
