The Indian rupee climbed against the U.S. dollar in evening deals on Monday, following a rise in regional shares.
The benchmark 30-share S&P BSE Sensex finished up by 479 points or 1.77 percent to 27,491, while the broader CNX Nifty index advanced 150 points or 1.84 percent to end higher at 8,332.
The rupee hit a session’s high of 63.435 a greenback, compared to 63.67 hit at last week’s close. The rupee may possibly challenge resistance around the 62.00 level.
