Ireland’s industrial production climbed for the third straight month in August, though at a slower pace than in the previous two months, preliminary figures from the Central Statistics Office showed Monday.

Industrial production grew a seasonally adjusted 18.5 percent year-over-year in August, slower than July’s 22.9 percent gain. In June, the rate of growth was 30.0 percent.

Manufacturing production surged the same 18.5 percent in August from a year ago, while mining and quarrying output tumbled by 29.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped 1.0 percent in August, in contrast to a 9.9 percent hike in the preceding month.

In the three months ended August, total industrial production contracted 1.6 percent compared with the previous three-month period.
