Italy’s import price index of industrial products increased for the first time in eight months in February, figures from the statistical office Istat showed Thursday.

Import prices rose 1.6 percent month-over-month in February, in contrast to a 1.5 percent decrease in January. It was the first increase since July last year.

On an annual basis, import prices declined at a slower pace of 4.7 percent in February, following a 6.4 percent decrease in January.

Excluding the energy sector, import price index climbed 0.2 percent monthly and increased 0.4 percent annually in February.
