Automobile production in Japan increased for the first time in seventeen months in November, figures from the Japan Automobile Manufactures Association showed Monday.

Production of vehicle climbed 6.0 percent or by 44,943 units year-over-year to 743,401 units in November.

At the same time, domestic automobile demand fell 6.6 percent to 388,817 units in November.

Automobile exports surged 12.7 percent annually to 414,870 units in November. It was the third consecutive monthly rise.

Exports to Europe grew the most, by 37.9 percent, followed by exports to Middle-East with 13.4 percent climb. Meanwhile, export to Africa declined by 15.3 percent.

Exports to European Union Jumped 51.6 percent and that to the United States of America rose by 10.5 percent.

Motorcycle production totaled 46,453 units in November, decreased by 11.9 percent from the same month of the previous year. Similarly, motorcycle exports plunged by 23.0 percent to 33,080 units during November.
