Industrial output in Japan added a seasonally adjusted 0.8 percent on month in June, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said on Thursday.

That beat expectations for an increase of 0.3 percent following the 2.1 percent contraction in May.

On a yearly basis, industrial output advanced 2.0 percent – also exceeding expectations for a gain of 1.3 percent following the 3.9 percent contraction in the previous month.

Upon the release of the data, the METI maintained its assessment that industrial production is fluctuating indecisively.
