Luxembourg’s jobless rate held steady for the fifth straight month in August, figures from the statistical office STATEC showed Tuesday.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 6.9 percent in August, the same rate as in the previous five months. In the corresponding month last year, the jobless rate was 7.2 percent.
The unemployment rate was the lowest since August 2013, when it marked the same 6.9 percent.
The number of unemployed people was 18,037 in August against 18,029 in the preceding month. A year ago, the jobless figure totaled 18,477.
On an unadjusted basis, the number of registered unemployed persons dropped to 17,150 in August from 17,536 in July.
