Portugal’s producer prices continued to decline in March at a slower pace, figures from Statistics Portugal showed Monday.

The producer price index dropped 2.4 percent year-over-year in March, after a 3.4 percent decrease in February. In January, prices had fallen 4.2 percent.

Prices in the manufacturing sector dipped 3.3 percent in March from the previous year, while prices in the utility sector registered an increase of 2.7 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.8 percent in March, slightly slower than previous month’s 0.9 percent climb. It was the second consecutive monthly increase.
