As expected, the Bank of England kept interest rate on hold at 0.50 percent and asset purchase target at GBP 375 billion. Following the announcement, the pound changed little against its major rivals.
The pound was trading at 1.5480 against the greenback, 0.7205 against the euro, 1.4428 against the franc and 185.59 against the yen around 7:03 am ET.
