The U.K. trade data for March is due at 4:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the pound held steady against its major rivals.
The pound was worth 1.5465 against the greenback, 185.65 against the yen, 0.7260 against the euro and 1.4258 against the franc as of 4:25 am ET.
