The Canadian dollar escalated on Tuesday due to higher crude prices and weaker US dollar.

US crude prices, bolstered by continuous Yemen conflict and devitalized greenback, climbed 1.5% to $60.12, while Brent crude gained 1.6% to $65.98.

The loonie closed at 82.99 US cents from Monday’s 82.58 US cents.
