Germany’s retail sales expanded in November after recuperating from a minimal decline in October, signaling the country’s strong performance for the year.

According to Destatis, retail sales rose by 0.2% on the month in real, adjusted terms, from 0.1% fall in October. In annual terms, sales were up 2.3% on the year.

The government agency said retail sales climbed 2.8% in the first 11 months of the year in real terms, the greatest improvement since 1994.
