Indonesian stocks and the rupiah nose-dived after multiple explosions and gunfires hit Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

The assaults occurred in front of Sarinah shopping center, close to the presidential palace and UN offices. Gunfire was ongoing as of this writing.

The Jakarta Composite Index closed at 4,483.3, down 1.2% after the incident. The rupiah declined at IDR13,940 to the US dollar, down 0.8%.
