The Swiss franc slid against its major counterparts on Thursday as consumer sentiment in Switzerland declined in July.

According to State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, the Swiss consumer sentiment index ended at -19, previously -6.

The currency ended at 1.0703 per euro, 0.9816 per US dollar, and 1.5339 per British pound. Against the Japanese yen, it closed at ¥127.25.

Meanwhile, Swiss unemployment rate is due Friday.
