South Korea’s money supply growth accelerated in September after easing marginally in the previous month, figures from the Bank of Korea showed Wednesday.
M2, a broad measure of money supply, climbed 9.4 percent year-over-year in September, faster than the 9.2 percent increase in August.
On a monthly basis, M2 money supply rose at a slower pace of 0.7 percent in September, following a 0.9 percent spike in the prior month.
At the same time, annual growth in liquidity quickened to 9.2 percent in September from 8.9 percent in the preceding month.
Similarly, liquidity of financial institutions grew at a slightly faster pace of 10.5 percent yearly in September, after a 10.4 percent hike a month earlier.
Month-on-month, liquidity of financial institutions increased at a stable pace of 0.7 percent during September.
