Walking through the door is like taking a step back in time directly to 19th Century Paris, the luxurious interior with a strong Neo-Baroque theme are just the beginning, as you climb the stairs at Tantalize you get a good look at the spectacular, detailed and decadent Gerry Kelly creation.
Sparkly chandeliers, massive mirrors and a sumptuous velvet set the scene for a very original series of performances through out the night that are extremely original and entertaining.
But the biggest shock came with the food. As a regular Lincoln Rd diner I have become accustomed to terrible service, transient wait staff who are not sure what restaurant they are working at on any given night or at best have been taught a monotone script devoid of any real knowledge to recite to patrons, well not at Tantalize.
Our table on the evening was under the control of Ryan, a gentleman that had started at the restaurant when it opened only 3 weeks ago, he knew not only the dishes, but the preparation, the options AND was even an expert on the Wine list, unusual in the extreme and my first hint that the food might actually be something special.
The menu has something for everyone from a diet conscious Raw Bar to one of the best Burgers in the world.
As dinner progressed we were left with no doubt, this is some of the finest cuisine anywhere in Miami.
Tantalize is a Miami Beach Must Do for travelers and locals.
A Former Couture Fashion designer, Kelly has played a significant role in placing South Beach and Miami, on the world’s nightlife map and has been credited for opening some of the most incredible hotspots in the Southern United States. Venues include, Sean Penn’s Bash, Shadow Lounge, Level, Karu & Y and The Fifth, to mention a few.
He is hailed as a Miami’s Nightlife Guru and as the Associated Press very eloquently described him, “Gerry Kelly is to Nightlife what the Queen of England is to Royalty. ”
