Britons housing equity injections decreased in the second quarter to its lowest level since early 2012, data from the Bank of England revealed Tuesday.

Households injected GBP 10.9 billion versus GBP 12.07 billion in the prior quarter. This was the lowest since the first quarter of March 2012.

HEW occurs when withdrawals of housing equity by the household sector are larger than injections of equity.

When households, in aggregate, are withdrawing more equity than they are injecting, HEW is positive. When they are injecting more than they are withdrawing, HEW is negative.
