US initial jobless claims fall to 2-month low

FXStreet (Córdoba) – US initial jobless claims fell by 11,000 to 264,000 in the week ended September 12, hitting its lowest level in 2 months.

The reading also beat estimates of 275,000 and it was the lowest since September 18, when claims touched a 40-year low at 255,000. Claims for the prior week were unrevised at 275,000.

The four-week moving average fell by 3,250 to 272,500 last week. Continuing jobless claims declined by 26,000 to 2.24 million in the week ended September 5.
