FXStreet (Córdoba) – US stocks closed the week with slight gains following a sharp selloff at the beginning of the week amid Chinese turmoil.

Wall Street indexes saw a strong comeback over the last two sessions which sent equities into positive ground for the week, but spent Friday wavering around the flat line as investors assess latests comments from Fed’s officials.

Speaking at Jackson Hole Symposium, Fed’s Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer said the FOMC hasn’t yet settled on whether to raise rates in September.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 11.83 points or 0.07% lower at 16,642.94 on Friday after spending the day in a tight range. However, it managed to end the week 1.1% higher. The S&P 500 ended 1 point or 0.06% higher at 1,988.85 and printed a 0.9% weekly gain. The Nasdaq Composite rose 15.62 or 0.32% to 4,828.32 and recorded a 2.6% weekly gain.
