FXStreet (Mumbai) – The stock markets in the US have got off to a weak start, with major indices trading moderately lower ahead of speeches from Fed policymakers and Fed September meeting minutes.

At the time of writing, the DJIA traded 23 points lower, while the S&P 500 traded 5.18 points lower. The Nasdaq had weakened 20 points.

Among DJIA top gainers were names like Nike, Mcdonald’s, DuPont, Cisco, while losers were Apple, Merck&Co, American Express.

The investors now await comments from Fed officials – Bullard, Williams and Kocherlakota. Ahead in the day, the focus is likely to be on the Fed minutes.
