The dollar traded lower in N.Y. on Tuesday, taking a break from its recent rally, as yields and Wall Street slipped lower. There was again no U.S. data, and overall, FX trade was fairly subdued. EUR-USD opened the session under 1.0860, eventually topping out at 1.0969. USD-JPY meanwhile, gave back the 124 handle, trading into 123.77, just over Thursday’s base, before stabilizing. USD-CAD was repelled by the 1.3000 mark, and despite further oil price weakness, managed to slide under 1.2920. Cable under performed, basing at 1.5535, though only able to rally to 1.5575 highs.
